Hey Dolls! This is the first in a series of posts titled Gussy Up, where I'm sharing all the details on how to take a simple invitation suite template and turn it into something magical! For our first post we're featuring our best-selling Blush Watercolor Floral Vellum Overlay Invitation Suite.
Note: this post does not contain affiliate links. I am just sharing the products that I like and use.
We printed our vellum overlay invitation using 30 lb Inkjet Vellum Paper from the Paper Source for the top text layer and 110 lb White Cardstock from Michaels for the back floral layer. Note: print the back layer doubled sided with the floral artwork on both sides. It's adds a premium touch and looks beautiful when the floral shows through a vellum envelope.
Then we attached the two layers using a Matte Black Paper Fastener and wrapped the entire suite in a black leather cord.
Now for the envelopes! These two luxe options will be hard to choose from. Option 1: we lined an A7 envelope in Blossom from the Paper Source with our Watercolor Cherry Blossom Floral Envelope Liner. Easy to print at home, our envelope liners are a great way to add a luxe touch to your invitations. Plus they come in 9 size options!
Option 2: More vellum!!! The next option is using a vellum envelope, this way the beautiful watercolor floral shows through the envelope - a touch that is sure to wow your guests! For this we used vellum envelopes from Michaels but I wasn’t a big fan of these so I am linking ones from the Paper Source instead.
Don't forget those addresses!! We used our Script Wedding Envelope Addressing Template to print the envelope addressing. They are easy to print at home once to get your printer settings right - so don’t be intimidated! Printing your addresses, instead of writing them by hand, will take your entire suite to the next level!
Similar to the invitation, we printed the RSVP card on 110 lb white cardstock from Michaels and assembled it with a 4 Bar Envelope in Blossom lined with our Watercolor Cherry Blossom Floral Envelope Liner.
For the details card we chose to show 2 options: one version with the Floral artwork printed on white carstock if you want everything to match, another option and my personal preference, a text only version printed on complimentary blossom cardstock.
Hope this gives you some ideas on how to mix and match our templates to create your own unique and elevated look!
Wanna see the whole thing in action. Check out our video here!
Hope you loved this post!! xoxo, Crystal
